Column: November wine recommendations – Richmond News

[ad_1]

Each month, BC Liquor Stores offers hundreds of wines. For those of you who have followed my recommendations over the past few months, you’ve saved some money and bought some great wines. This month is a godsend for those looking for valuable wines.

Here are my top buying recommendations for November 2021:

Innisfree 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon – this is a wine from the Joseph Phelps winery that uses grapes from newer vines that are not mature enough to be used in their flagship wine, Insignia, and their regular Cabernet Sauvignon wine. This wine is therefore a baby or early drink version of the premium Joseph Phelps wines at a fraction of the price. This wine is brand new to liquor stores but is reduced this month from $ 51.99 to $ 41.99.

Louis Bernard 2020 C̫te du Rh̫ne Blanc Рthis winemaker is a specialist in value wines, so when their wines are on sale you should take advantage of the extra savings. This wine is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Clairette and Roussanne. It will be perfect if it is fresh and accompanied by fish dishes. This wine is on sale this month from $ 16.49 to $ 14.49.

Allan Scott 2020 Sauvignon Blanc – Sauvignon Blanc wines appeal to the crowd because of the wine’s crisp acidity. Allan Scott is a great wine producer and 2020 has been a magnificent vintage for New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. You can pick it up this month for $ 21.99, a reduction from the regular price of $ 23.99.

Tormaesca 2017 Castel Del Monte Trentangeli – this wine comes from the value region of Castel Del Monte and is a blend of 70 percent aglianico, 20 percent cabernet sauvignon and 10 percent syrah. This wine will be dark, rich and full-bodied. It’s on sale this month for $ 23.99 to $ 20.99.

Pere Anselme 2018 La Fiole Côtes du Rhône – Wines from the south of the Rhône always offer excellent value for money and this wine is no exception. This wine is a blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah. It will be ready to drink right away, and it will be fruity with lots of weight and body. It’s on sale this month for $ 19.99 to $ 17.99.

Seghesio 2019 Zinfandel – Seghesio is a constant producer of quality Zinfandel. Zinfandel wines are high in alcohol and full bodied with aromas and tastes of plum and violet. It is certainly an excellent pairing with beef or lamb dishes. This wine is on sale this month from $ 36.99 to $ 33.99.

Until next time, good drink!
