Cult Wines sells Domaine Leroy Musigny 2013 at record price

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cult Wines, the world’s leading fine wine investment and collection management company, today announced the sale of the 2013 Domaine Leroy Musigny, an acclaimed rare Burgundy Grand Cru, to a client in Asia. The 3-bottle case fetched a record price of $142,000, or approximately $47,333 per bottle, which is a 123% increase over the current average auction price and higher than any price previously set at auction.

“We are seeing insatiable demand across Asia on the high end of the Burgundy market,” noted Joe Alim, Greater China Director for Cult Wines. “This is especially true for producers like Domaine Leroy and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, where competition is fierce for the rarest and most prized Grands Crus, which are inherently rare. We expect this demand to continue at a healthy pace and we will continue to see an upward price trend. »
