Flights restaurant opens new location at ClubSport San Jose – The Mercury News

Workouts at ClubSport in South San Jose are for the whole family. In addition to personal training, “The Plex” is a 200,000 square foot indoor sports and entertainment facility that offers roller hockey and indoor soccer leagues for different age groups, as well as swimming lessons. . Activities for kids include rock climbing, Lil ‘Kickers football and show jumping.

In March, The Plex opened a huge space called The 5 Social, featuring over 30 popular and vintage arcade games, bocce courts, and five tournament-level cornhole lanes. Members can watch sporting events on giant screen televisions while tasting a selection of premium wines while helping themselves to one of more than 30 craft beers from the tap wall.

There’s food too, and that’s where local restaurateur and sports fan Alex Hult comes in. He takes over the food concession that had been operated by High Five Pizza for 14 years, and is in the process of setting up a Flights restaurant in this space which should be open by December.

Hult currently owns and operates flights to Campbell, Los Gatos and Mountain View.

“The flights as a business are going full steam ahead and we are selling franchises,” Hult says. “We’re about to open in San Diego and Texas, and we’ll be opening more corporate stores like this one.”

The Plex’s Flights restaurant and 48-seat bar will occupy a spot in the 15,000-square-foot 5 Social.

Of the owners of The Plex, Hult says, “They’re investing $ 7 million in The 5 Social’s new food court, and we’re happy to be a part of it. We want to bring the signature food that Flights restaurants have popularized, like pizzas, salads, kebabs and fries. In addition, you can relax in a huge bar.

Other food vendors include Sushi Confidential, which is slated to open in November, and Hult is working with Fouad Elian of Bibo’s NY Pizza in Willow Glen on Pizza @ ThePlex, which just opened.

The Sportsplex is located at 800 Embedded Way, San José. For more information, visit
