OenoGrou welcomed Gabriele Gorelli MW as the new Brand Ambassador for Italy, effective January 10, 2022.
In February 2021, Gorelli became the first Italian master of wine, a nation of indisputable wine riches and an exciting lineup of new winemaking stars. Raised in Montalcino, Gabriele’s wine roots go back to his grandfather, the smallest renowned producer of Brunello di Montalcino. His education surrounded by wine knowledge led him to establish himself as an esteemed brand builder and a true expert in Tuscan wines. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and education, Gabriele has forged close ties with wineries, importers and gourmet restaurants in Italy and abroad. A frequent traveler, he is fluent in English, French, Italian and German.
“It is fundamental that a complex country like Italy, from an ampelographic, historical and stylistic point of view, can count on an ambassador representing it on the international scene”, declared Gorelli MW.
It is precisely for this reason that Gorelli is committed to representing his country on the world wine scene. Not only was he editor-in-chief of the Italian section of Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia 2020, but he is also regularly featured as a presenter and judge at national and international wine competitions. Since becoming Master of Wine, he has hired several consulting firms that will deepen his networks in Italy and around the world allowing him to make his knowledge of Italy known to a wider audience.
“We are absolutely delighted that Gabriele, with his many talents, is joining us as an Ambassador as it is a positive endorsement of our vision and strategy,” said Justin Knock MW, director of wine for the company. “Gabrielle’s ambition and expertise in Italian wine is a valuable addition to OenoGroup, as we continue to develop our partnerships with the world’s most sought-after wineries. Italy is a central region for our company, close to our heart for producers and collectors. We are excited about the opportunities to deliver world-class tastings in Italy with Gabriele’s expertise, and use her knowledge to identify promising winemaking talents that we can bring to our group. We also appreciate his marketing acumen as we continue our journey into luxury wine and luxury wine experiences. He is a natural statesman and a tremendous asset to the Italian wine industry as a whole.
