Ultimate Beverage Challenge’s David Talbot Joins Advisory Board
PORTLAND, Maine – October 21, 2021 – Registration is underway for two co-located events, Vinexpo America and Drinks America, which will debut in New York City from March 9-10, 2022. The Professional Exhibitions, which will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, will provide US and Canadian buyers and decision-makers with access to new and established brands looking to enter and expand into the North American market. The program will prove to be an effective meeting for the alcoholic beverage industry, giving buyers and exhibitors the opportunity to discuss products and do business in one place.
Vinexpo America will focus exclusively on wines from around the world and is a repositioning of the former Vinexpo New York, launched in 2018. Drinks America is a new expo that will feature spirits, beer, sake, ready-to-eat. drink (RTD), and related products and services. Participants will have full access to both events. Among the already confirmed exhibitors are Amber Beverage International, Aquitaine Wine, Bernard Magrez, Bruno Lafon Selection, Business France, Castilla La Mancha, Château Ramage La Batisse, Maison Ginestet, Perdeberg Wines, Serena Wines and Vueve Ambal.

Alcoholic beverage consumption is up 2% in the United States, reflecting the largest gain for the country since 2002, and the United States is on track to become the world’s largest alcohol e-commerce market by the end of the year, after 80% value growth in 2019-2020. Drinks America attendees will note the rise of RTD as the fastest growing alcoholic beverage category in the US market, growing 62.3% in volume in 2020. Sales of spirits in the US have increased. posted the largest volume increase last year at 4.6% for the spirits category since 1990, which increased in value by 7.7%.

David Talbot has joined the advisory board of Vinexpo America and Drinks America. Co-founder and director of the Ultimate Beverage Challenge (UBC), he has made it one of the world’s leading wine and spirits assessment and marketing services. UBC hosts the annual Ultimate Spirits Challenge for all types of distilled spirits, and the Ultimate Wine Appraisal, which provides assessment and review services to wine producers and traders.
